Well, I have been rather MIA lately, haven't I? That's because though there is plenty going on in DC, as always, I have been too busy working/studying to go out an enjoy it. I missed former president Carter and the Dalai Lama. Alas! Nevertheless, I have discovered an interesting European something. It's called cafebabel. Cafebabel is a website that aims, as someone I spoke to yesterday informs me, to create a forum for the creation of a "European opinion or consciousness". It's published in seven different languages, and hosts a number of very interesting blogs. My favorite, though it is in French, is EUrotik. Because Europeans do it better. Check it out sometime.

I'm curious to see whether cafebabel sinks or swims. Can such a number of strong, independent cultures with their own opinions be worked into one generally European opinion?
